- help you to find work.
Our service offers appointments over the telephone, video, face to face or via online typed therapy so you can choose which suits you the best.
What to expect
When you refer into NHS Talking Therapies, you will be booked in for an initial assessment appointment. This consultation will be with one of our friendly Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs). They will ask you some questions about the difficulties you are having and how these impact on your day to day life. Your PWP will help you to identify how you want to change the way you think, feel and behave. These questions help us to understand how NHS Talking Therapies can best help you. The appointment can last up to 45 minutes and following this you and your PWP will come up with a treatment plan, which may involve a course of treatment with us, or signposting you to another service to better suit your needs. Your PWP is there to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Please note this service is not for:
- Schizophrenia
- Bipolar disorder
- Personality disorder
- Anger management
- Obvious signs of psychosis
- Substance misuse
- Significant risk
- Organic disorders of the brain.
We are not an emergency service and you may have to wait a few weeks for an appointment.
