Walk for Hope 2024

On World Suicide Prevention Day North Lincolnshire Public Health would like to invite you to join us in our

‘WALK FOR HOPE’, to help raise awareness of suicide prevention, bringing families and friends together in memory of lost loved ones to suicide.

Anyone can be affected by suicide and the Walk For Hope provides an opportunity to connect with others, have a conversation, express solidarity to those living with suicidal thoughts, support one another or just be silent and take time to reflect, knowing there is someone walking beside you.

  • 5pm -  Meet at the Kingsway Car Park in Central Park, DN17 1BJ
  • 5:15pm - Prompt start for a short walk through Central Park

Those who wish to, may then proceed to walk to 20-21 Visual Arts Centre, Church Square, DN15 6TB (or meet there) where we will be holding a Candle Vigil at: 

  • 6:30pm for refreshments 
  • 7pm to 8:30pm for guest speakers and the lighting of candles

Everyone is welcome so come along to help raise awareness of Suicide Prevention


World Suicide Prevention Day 2024 Candle Lit Vigil

To mark World Suicide Prevention Day on tuesday 10th of September 2024, North Lincolnshire Public Health would like to invite you to attend our candle lit vigil. 

Join us as we bring the community and local organisations together to remember those who have lost family members, friends and colelagues to suicide, and for the survivors of suicide. 

The event is aimed at raising awareness about suicide prevention, supporting those affected by suicide, and remembering loved ones lost. 

  • Date: Tuesday, September 20th 
  • Location: 20-21 Visual Arts Centre, Church Square, Scunthorpe, DN15 6TA
  • Time: 6.30pm arrival for refreshments
  • 7pm to 8.30pm - will be joined by guest speakers followed by the lighting of candles
