Telephone Buddy Service
Posted on 20 Jul 2020
As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, we have been carefully adapting the work we do to ensure that we are effectively supporting the people of North Lincolnshire, and providing accurate and up to date information on health and social care services.
As part of this, we have developed a Telephone Buddy System, where people who consider themselves to be vulnerable or feel isolated are paired up with one of our volunteers. The volunteer will regularly call them to make sure they’re okay, answer any questions they have, signpost them to relevant support they may require, and to generally just provide a friendly voice to chat to.
We have now recently also received some additional funding from Inclusion North, which has enabled us to extend this service to adults in the area with Autism and/or Learning Difficulties.
We are able to help these individuals to:
- Understand information and guidelines
- Stay connected
- Solve problems
- Get support from other services
If you or somebody you know would benefit from our Telephone Buddy Service, or if you’d like to volunteer, please call us on 01724 844986, complete our form at www.healthwatchnorthlincolnshire.co.uk, or email us at email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
