Please see below details of support sessions for patients with Breast Cancer provided by Breast Cancer Now
Moving Forward is for people who have come to the end of their hospital-based treatment for primary breast cancer.
We know that for a lot of people it’s not ‘back to normal’ when they’ve finished their hospital-based treatment for breast cancer. Coping with the shock of a diagnosis, treatment side effects and worries about recurrence can make it difficult to adjust to everyday life. That’s why we’ve set up the Moving Forward courses.
The face-to-face course runs over two half day sessions (3 and a half hours) a week apart. Through supportive, open conversations in a safe, confidential space it’s an opportunity to connect with people who understand. They’ll find the tools to feel more empowered, confident and in control. People attending can share as much or as little as they feel comfortable doing. The sessions are delivered by a facilitator along with the support of our volunteers, who have had a personal diagnosis. There is a question and answer session with a local breast care nurse, so they have the opportunity to ask any questions they’d like.
Alongside the face-to-face course, service users will have access to presentations on a range of topics from expert speakers, via an online platform and a Moving Forward journal to support them throughout the course.
There is a new Moving Forward course in Scunthorpe and it’s due to take place on 19th & 26th March 2026 and a further course in Grimsby is planned for 18th and 25th June 2026
Please pass the information on to anyone who you think might benefit from attending the course.
It’s free of charge and patients can find their closest course, self-refer and book onto the courses via our website using the following link Moving Forward face-to-face course | Breast Cancer Now or by calling us on 0345 077 1893.
